A traditional but modern classic, Coriole Lloyd Reserve is a robust but beautifully balanced style.
The wines have intense ripe blackberry, black olive aromas and meaty complexity with plenty of palate richness, underlying new oak, fruit sweetness and texture. Coriole Lloyd Reserve Shiraz is sourced from a small single vineyard block, which includes Geoffrey Kay’s original 1919 plantings.
The dry-grown east-facing organically-farmed vineyard, lies on deep clay soils, in the Seaview sub-region. Vinification takes place in concrete and steel open-fermenters and fermentation is completed in barrel. The wine is then matured for up to 22 months in 40% new and seasoned French oak barrels.
